The range

Ten blends. Two sizes. No added sugar.

See all ten

We buy the whole root, not the extract.

None of this is romantic. It is what it costs to make a digestive that still tastes of the plant it came from.

Pressed, never reconstituted

Fresh turmeric goes through the press whole. Powdered extract would cut the cost by two thirds and remove the reason anyone drinks it.

Cold steeped, eighteen hours

Chamomile is brewed cold overnight because boiling water strips the flowers of every aromatic worth having.

Nine farms, every season

Everything grows within four hundred miles of the blendhouse. We buy on a standing order rather than by tender, and absorb a bad turmeric year.

A digestive is a habit, not a cure.

Three moments around a meal. Most people build the habit inside a fortnight.

  1. Twenty minutes before

A short pour of a bitter blend. Gentian and dandelion do their work ahead of the meal, not after it.

We would pour Wild Berry Bitters.

  2. Alongside the plate

Something long and cold. Lemon balm or cucumber, sipped through the meal instead of a second glass of wine.

We would pour Lemon Balm Cooler.

  3. An hour after

Ginger or fennel, warmed slightly. This is where most people notice the difference in the first week.

    We would pour Ginger Ember.

We replaced the after-lunch coffee cart with a case of Ginger Ember. Two hundred staff, and the three o'clock slump genuinely went away.

I recommend the fennel blend to patients who cannot tolerate peppermint. It is the only bottled digestive I have found with no added sugar.
